Charlene's career did not begin in baking, but in hairdressing, with promotions leading to a position as National Education Trainer for Redken Hair Products. She traveled extensively across the country training professional stylists for years.
Charlene's dream of owning a bakery began at an early age with the inspiration of her best friend's father (who happened to operate his own bakery). She always enjoyed baking and made cream puffs and other goodies to the delight of friends and family. With the incessant encouragement and positive support of those closest to her, Charlene eventually resigned from her corporate position to pursue her childhood dream of owning a place to make her favorite delicious desserts.
Investing in an old ice cream truck in 1985, she baked all night and drove to various street festivals and flea markets selling her homemade cream puffs. Lines soon formed and Charlene's treats became a popular attraction. With sheer determination and physical drive, plus ten years worth of savings and family assistance, she purchased and rebuilt an old farmhouse in Lindenwold, New Jersey at 947 Gibbsboro Road.
In 1995, her dream of owning a bakery had come to fruition. Welcome to Napoleon's Cremepuffery...your destination for the most delicious cream puffs you will ever taste...
